Pregnancy is such a beautiful thing. And for those of you who want to continue to move while pregnant, slower movements is exactly what you need and are looking for. When you pregnant, your ligaments are more susceptible to injury. They are more lax and prone to stretching, so we want to make sure that we take things nice and slow.
Yoga is fantastic for the momma to-be's out there as it preps the body for the birthing process in your later months. Keeping mobile is always good no matter what stage or trimester you are in. Because your ligaments are more lax, you have to be more precise in your weight bearing. Since there is additional weight in the front of your body, you will need to keep mobile in the supporting areas like the glutes and lower back.
For the savasana process, you'll want to make some modifications like putting a block or bolster between your legs and laying on your side. Yoga helps connect to your baby - especially when we are winding down and putting your hands on your body. Really feel that connection between mother and child. It is a beautiful thing. Keep moving, keep grooving - you deserve it! Namaste!
